Today’s Brixton Street ♥ You feature comes to you courtesy of Navitas Naturals!
Navitas Naturals produces a number of minimally processed, raw, organic foods that are as delicious as they are nutrient rich. We recently had the opportunity to try out several of their great products: the Sun Dried White Mulberries: Mulberry Berries ($5.99 per 4. oz bag), Sweet Raw Chocolate Nibs : Cacoa Sweet Nibs ($5.49 per 4 oz. bag) and Cacoa Lip Balm ($3.99).
The food products are awesome to snack on straight out of the bag or to use as an ingredient in baked goods, smoothies, granolas, etc. etc. etc… the range of products is extremely versatile and the possibilities for using them are seemingly endless!
Navita’s Naturals sustainably harvests and sun dries their organic mulberries which are high in iron, calcium, vitamin C, protein, and fiber and also contain the antioxidant Resveratrol. The mulberries have a nice, chewy texture with a slight crunch (from the seeds, which are much like strawberry seeds) and a delicate, sweet flavor that is slightly reminiscent of dried figs. I had never tried mulberries prior to this, but I really loved the subtlety of the flavor in comparison to other dried berries. The flavor is extremely clean and the sweetness is as delicate as the flavor! Overall a super enjoyable treat with an absolutely lovely flavor and texture.

The cacao sweet nibs were another unique offering- definitely unlike any other cocoa product I’ve tried before! The cacoa nibs are processed at low temperatures and are lightly coated with cacao liquor and cane juice. The flavor is deeply chocolately with a subtle sweetness and light liquor flavor. The texture is crunchy and each bite is somewhat unique. Each piece varies in its level of crunch and “meltiness” making it a very interesting and unique chocolate flavored product. I would say the cacoa nibs are almost like biting into crunchy chocolate crystals! I loved snacking on these straight out of the bag and am excited about the prospect of trying these out as a topping for various foods. One of the suggestions is to use the nibs as a topping for ice cream which sounds absolutely devine!

One of my favorite aspects of Navitas Naturals is that they create products that are unique and interesting but also super accessible. Some of the flavors may be ones you’ve never tried before, but the taste is never overwhelmingly foreign. Although the products are super flavorful, they also have a wonderful subtlety to them which makes them very easy to “ease into”. The mulberries and cacoa nibs are definitely new favorites of mine, and I am really looking forward to purchasing some of the other products in the Navitas Naturals line up.
Note : both products are raw, contain no animal ingredients, organic and gluten free.
A huge thank you to Navitas Naturals for providing a giveaway prize for this month’s event. Check in every weekday this month for our latest Brixton Street ♥ You feature.

I didn’t know that mulberries were so good for you with all of the vitamins and antioxidants. We had a mulberry tree when I was little and I used to eat those more than candy. I wish I had a mulberry tree now. I can’t find mulberries anywhere until I saw this post:)

I learned about Yacon. Often coined the “apple of the earth” due to its inherent sweet and juicy crunch, yacon is extensively used in its native habitats as both a delicious food and an effective treatment for various ailments.
