Beautiful, organic dark chocolate truffles from Nicobella.
Founder/Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist/Yoga Instructor Nichole Dandrea has created a wonderful line of truffles that combine the smooth silkiness of a conventional truffle filling (minus the heavy creams & butters) with ultra flavorful, nutrient rich ingredients such as green tea, flaxseed, and pumpkin. The products in the line are available in a unique and super appealing set of flavors: Ginger Green Tea, Walnut Flaxseed, Pumpkin Chai, Sunflower Banana Butter, Blueberry Almond, and Pure Cocoa Bliss.
Among their selection of chocolate products, Nicobella offers a 6-piece “Truffles Assortment” box ($13.50) which contains one piece each of Nicobella’s flavor offerings. Nicobella graciously provided one of these assortment boxes for Brixton Street to sample & we were absolutely wowed by the flavors. Each truffle is a chocolate lover’s dream. The deep taste of cocoa from the flair trade, 70% chocolate is certainly the highlight of each piece (a taste sometimes lost in far too sweet truffles filled with sugars). The flavor of the deep, dark chocolate really shines through but is thoroughly complemented by delicate flavors and textures provided by the unique selection of fillings. I was surprised by how much of a range in taste and textures these chocolates had: from the smooth creaminess of the Sunflower Banana Butter to the deep berry flavor and light crunch of Blueberry Almond, each piece was something to savor and appreciate.
