Giveaway : Ecoutrement : Urban Legends Gloves (ends 4/22)

Last month I was thinking to myself, I really need a ‘go to’ website for green accessories.  Then suddenly, I found it.

Megan, the founder/owner of Ecoutrement, has an AMAZING eye for quality design.  Each item added to her shop is clearly selected with care, resulting in a website full of gorgeous, eco-friendly fare.

One of my favorite things about Ecoutrement is that the products are ones that I probably would have never know about were it not for the site.  You see, the site isn’t full of your typical pseudo-eco-friendly, greenwashing fare:  pieces are actually sourced from brands that have clear standards and stories behind them. Each product is also labelled clearly with its green-credentials: fair trade, organic, vegan, recycled, sustainable, etc.

Regardless of the products being green, if you just love clean, beautiful accessories, then Ecoutrement will probably suit your fancy just as much as it did mine!

Courtesy of Ecoutrement, I had the opportunity to try out one of my absolute favorite pieces from the site, the Slate Urban Legends Glove ($32) [also available in black].  Fair trade, made with tencel, organic cotton, and silk -and- OH-SO-BEAUTIFUL.

The gloves are quite thin and lightweight, but also manage to provide some warmth (perfect for this time of year).  Another positive: they are also suuuuper soft! The addition of silk to the weave really puts the softness over the top.

I’ve experienced many a chunky unflattering glove, but these are the exact polar opposite; some of the most delicate and elegant looking gloves I’ve ever handled.  Although they look delicate, they are actually quite hearty, especially because they have some give and stretch.

The slate color is very unique and so much fun to coordinate with various outfits.  As for the knitting, the quality is amazing and the open work stitch details are super gorgeous.

The style of the gloves allows you to wear them in multiple ways, a few of my suggestions are:

• Layering under a coat in the winter
  
• Pairing with a short sleeve or sleeveless top in the spring
  
• Layering under a light coat or jacket in the spring
  
• Loosening up the tops (ala loose socks) to give the arm portion of the glove a baggy look- this is great for accessorizing a casual outfit.
