As far as cosmetics packaging goes, there are usually lots of eye-catching, glittery gimmicks saturating the market, but very few options when it comes to a beautifully designed product that is minimalist in nature. The motto for lilah b. is “With less, you are more” and this motto holds true with their beautifully streamlined and unembellished products.
I was recently lucky enough to get a hold of a b.mine kit containing two shades of the brand’s “Divine Duo” compacts. I had previously only seen these cult favourites online and in-person they are much different than I imagined! By far, these are the most interesting compacts I’ve come across in all the many years that I’ve been purchasing makeup. I’ve read online that the compacts are made of white stone and they do have a weighty, ceramic/stone type heft to them. The exterior is polished smooth and feels amazing to hold because of its weight and lack of any corners. The compacts also have a somewhat asymmetrical shape which adds to their unique feel.
The b.mine kit I received contains the shades b.sassy (a cool, bright/hot pink, swatched below) and b.dazzling (a champagne shade with shimmer). This is a limited edition Valentine’s Day kit, but it can still be purchased from Net-A-Porter ($78 USD / £75 GBP).
lilah b. also sent over a sample card with three Divine Duo shades: b. real (left), b. fearless (middle), and b. sassy (right). I’ve swatched these three shades below to demonstrate their consistency and their colour. The product is creamy and smooth, but not at all sticky or tacky and glides onto the skin in a super blendable fashion. After testing out the Divine Duo products, I would say the results are similar to that of a cheek or lip stain, because of its vibrant and long-lasting colour.
